America Belongs to the World
When the Mayflower, battered by storms and driven by thirst, sailed towards the New World, what did it carry? More than just Pilgrims. It carried the oppressed seeking dignity! An escape from the suffocating order of the Old World! A yearning for the freedom to breathe!
Yet history played a cruel joke: Today, the "Statue of Liberty" stands only as a desolate silhouette. That once free and beautiful nation responds to those who now brave stormy seas to reach her shores with deportation orders. The promise of "unconditional sanctuary," which once ignited the flame of hope in countless hearts worldwide, lies shattered into dust by the cold political calculations of merchants of power.
If the sole iron law of "legitimate possession" is who arrived first, how could the American continent tolerate a single non-Indigenous descendant? By that logic, the Indigenous peoples could rightfully ask all others to pack up and leave the Americas!
After Columbus's ships landed in 1492, peoples from across the globe followed European immigrants and swept across this land. Today's so-called "illegal immigrants" could open the history books and challenge the U.S. government with the most potent question: If America expels those who came later today, could the original inhabitants not reclaim your current homes? If you refuse to cooperate with the Indigenous peoples, is this not the paradox of double standards? The grand narrative of "liberty" is not woven from principles of freedom and justice, but is a distorted script rewritten by the hand of might and conquest.
The very bedrock upon which America was founded is clearly inscribed with "Liberty" and "Sanctuary." The torch held high by the Statue of Liberty once illuminated the night for countless oppressed souls. When this promise is torn apart so easily, what we witness is more than a mere policy shift; it is the subversion of the nation's founding spirit!
The bewildered, helpless gaze of the deported reflects the sheer hypocrisy and capriciousness of the "freedom" label in the face of realpolitik. When the barely-warmed embrace of freedom is ruthlessly stripped away by political maneuvering, America is left only with the hollow shell of a myth, tainted by commercial calculation and the squalor of broken promi
